Cisco = Collaboration. WebEx = Meetings??

Cisco continues to push collaboration as a key differentiator.  Recent announcements focus on mobile integration with iPod and iPad.  The company has built out its collaboration suite of products and services with an impressive array of new tools and capabilities.   But there can be some confusion.  WebEx, part of Cisco since 2007, is synonymous with Web Conferencing. Not so much Collaboration.  Ironically though, WebEx needs to be positioned much closer to a collaborative value prop as conferencing becomes more and more commoditized.  However, the closer WebEx gets to 'collaboration' the closer it gets to the rest of Cisco.  Time for some serious brand repositioning.  WebEx and Cisco offerings include... A recent review of Web conferencing services on lifehacker.com (see below). WebEx squeaked through as the leader (barely). Web conferencing is clearly now a commodity.  Differentation must come from the services wrapped around (pre and post record) and within (collaborative services).  But which services does the market really want?  And who, really, is the market?
