Ford of Canada retires - Congrats!

What!?  Ford retires?!  Is this some kind of bad pun?

Well, yes.  But the news is all good.  And it's green.

Retirement

Ford of Canada recently (March 31, 2011) wrapped up its Recycle Your Ride initiative - a green program that has been running since September 2009.
According to World of Wheels Magazine, Ford of Canada has successfully taken as many as 50,000 of our codgerly Canuck carbon coughers off the road.
That matches the Federal government's annual goal.

"Nearly 60% per cent of vehicles on Canadian roads today are 2003 model year or older" says World of Wheels.
Guilty:  I drove my 1986 Tercel hatch (sorry Ford) well into this millennium.  But hey, now we own a Toyota Camry Hybrid (um, sorry again there Ford).

Several suggest Ford's program has outperformed any other Canadian auto manufacturer.

Rebirth of the Digital Twin

The term "digital twin" has been popping up a lot lately.  Serious deja vu .   I recall it being used years ago in engineering, manufacturing and academic circles, but not the popular press.  Not back then.   Curious .   Is there a DT rebirth going on?
